The biggest news on your popular video streaming app – Youtube is that it removes 11 million videos from its website. These videos are about 11.4 million.
This is due to the fact that some of the videos did not comply with the app’s terms and policies.
The Company which is registered under Google made its action clear on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. It said that it removed 11.4 million videos last quarter.
It does this by employing the use of an automated content moderation software
YouTube also explains that most of the videos removed are videos uploaded within the first quarter of the Year.
After YouTube removes 11 million videos, YouYouTube further says it is ready for the increase in appeals for videos. As they’ve started adding more resources to its app.
This is why it was able to make double the amount of appealed content from Q1 to Q2.
The Company said the number of videos doubled from the first quarter to the second quarter of the year.
Moreso, there’s been an increased use of the app in recent times. I think its only right for it to dispose ‘supposedly irrelevant videos’.
Why YouTube Removes 11 million videos; the need to delete videos.
YouTube removal’s of those videos indicate the company’s respect for its policies and the effect on its users.
The suprising thing is the removal of over 11 million videos from the app. 11 million is a lot.
Although, I suspect that this is due to the use of automated content software to execute the costs.
YouTube also says “appeals are rare, and they only occur in less than 3% of all video removals.’ According to YouTube, 42% of removed videos had 0 views, 24% had 1-10 views and 24% had more than 10 views.
The company finally said 95% of the problematic videos removed at first detection were found by its software.
